Hi 🙂 I’m Laylaa. I am…

A Yogi. A bookworm. Crazy about animals. A Nature enthusiast. A Foodie. A Designer of jewellery, clothing, and pretty much whatever tickles my fancy. A Dreamer. Filled to the brim with wanderlust. Born and raised in “Jo’burg”, but a global citizen.

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved reading. I read books by Enid Blyton, dreamt of adventure and aspired to one day write my own magical stories.

Since then I have read many different kinds of books, but one that made a great impression on me is called A language older than words. Derrick Jenssen writes about how once, long ago, there was an unspoken form of communication between humans and all other creatures/elements. To many this may seem like fantasy, but to me it makes absolute sense. I think this “sense” he talks about is what we call intuition. Sadly, in our industrialized, high-tech world, we have lost this strong sense of inuition, this connection we once had to all things. We seem to have forgotten that we are as much a part of nature as the trees and animals. Many of the systems that make modern lifestyles possible are based on the control and destruction of natural beings and systems.

Once we stop fighting nature, we stop fighting ourselves, and only then will we find peace.
My dream is to live a lifestyle that embraces and honours the wisdom of nature. My mission is to inspire others to do the same. It begins with re-examining our approach to everyday tasks and the products we use. Often, I believe, the answer is to simplify as much as possible. In order to innovate, we need to take a look back. We need to take back control of our food system and challenge the power of pharmaceutical giants.
We are nature and nature is us.
